<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - , 32~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH <br />IMPERIAL ELECTRICAL, INC., FOR THE PURCHASE AND <br />INST ALLA TION OF LIGHTING IN TOWN CENTER PARK, IN AN <br />AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY-FOUR THOUSAND NINE <br />HINDRED SEVENTEEN DOLLARS ($24,917.00), A TT ACHED HERETO AS <br />EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MA YOR TO EXECUTE SAID <br />AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THE <br />AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission desired to improve the lighting in Town Center Park <br />with bollard pathway lighting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised Bid No. 08-05-01, for Town Center Park <br />Lighting lmprovements, for which four (4) responses were received, of which Imperial Electrical, <br />Inc. was the lowest responsive responsible bidder, in the amount of $171,764.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, because of the limited effectiveness of the bollard type lighting, a great number <br />of them are required to have any significant impact which is very costly; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after discussion at the July 17, 2008 Commission meeting, the Commission <br />authorized staff to negotiate with Imperial Electrical, lnc., to install three (3) lights to give adequate <br />coverage of the center area yet not intrude on the residents to the north of the Park; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Imperial Electrical, Inc. submitted a proposal to the City for lighting <br />improvements at Town Center Park, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Nine <br />Hundred Seventeen Dollars ($24,917.00), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves the agreement with <br />Imperial Electrical, Inc. for the purchase and installation of lighting at Town Center Park, in an <br />amount not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Seventeen Dollars ($24,917.00), <br />attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Authorization of Mavor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement. <br /> <br />Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Agreement. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
