<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2008 - J.3!:t2: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AN AGREEMENT WITH GYM <br />SOURCE FOR THE PURCHASE AND INST ALLA TION OF EXERCISE <br />EQUIPMENT FOR THE COMMUNITY CENTER AT PELICAN <br />COMMUNITY PARK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY -FOUR <br />THOUSAND NINE HINDRED NINETY -FOUR DOLLARS AND NINETY- <br />EIGHT CENTS ($24,994.98), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to offer a workout room as one of the amenities of the Pelican <br />Community Park for the health and fitness of the residents; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff researched equipment best suited for the space and demographics of the <br />community in which we serve; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it was found that Gym Source offers a variety of both cardio and strength <br />workout equipment and they submitted a proposal to include an elliptical recumbent bike, two <br />treadmills, one recumbent bike, one elliptical strider, free weights and workout stations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to contract with Gym Source for the purchase and installation of <br />exercise equipment for the Community Center at Pelican Community Park, in an amount not to <br />exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety-Four Dollars and Ninety-Eight Cents <br />($24,994.98), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves the agreement with <br />Gym Source for the purchase and installation of exercise equipment for the Community Center at <br />Pelican Community Park, in an amount not to exceed Twenty-Four Thousand Nine Hundred Ninety- <br />Four Dollars and Ninety-Eight Cents ($24,994.98), attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Authorization of Mayor. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said Agreement. <br /> <br />Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Agreement. <br /> <br />Section 4. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
