Grandinetti, Police Captain <br /> <br />November 18, 2008 <br /> <br />Authorization to renew the annual service agreement with Sungard Public <br />Sector, Inc. in the amount of $53,838.60 for technical support and software <br />upgrades for the police computer system. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing the City <br />Manager to approve the expenditure of budgeted funds in the amount of $53,838.60 to Sungard <br />Public Sector, Inc. for an annual service agreement to include technical support and software <br />upgrades for the Police computer system. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The City entered into an agreement with Sungard-OSSI in May 2006 for the purchase of a state- <br />of-the-art Police computer system that provides the Police Department with a Computer Aided <br />Dispatch (CAD) System, Records Management System (RMS), Mobile Computing Terminals <br />(MCT) and a Mobile Field Reporting (MFR) System. This proprietary software solution has <br />proven to be the leader in public safety software in Miami-Dade County as well as many other <br />cities and states throughout the country.
