<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009-1210 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A FORMAL <br />POLICY AND PROCEDURE ON NAMING OF PUBLIC <br />FACILITIES; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL <br />THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City") seeks to honor individuals <br />with dedications and or naming of certain public facilities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there is need to establish a formal procedure and criteria for the <br />selection of names for certain public faci I ities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to establish a fair and equitable process for designating <br />place names, it is in the best interest of the City to establish an orlicial policy on designating <br />place names and name changes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution establishes an official policy and procedure to name <br />or change names of public facilities. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section I Establishment of an Official Policy: The City Commission hereby adopts a <br />formal policy, attached as Exhibit "A" regarding the placement of names on public facilities. <br /> <br />Section 2 Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Declaration. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
