City of Sunny Isles Beach City Commission Agenda 18070 Collins A venue, Sunny Isle Beach, FL 33 I 60 (305) 947-0606 Phone (305) 949-3 I 13 Fax AGENDA BILL REQUESTED ACTION It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution approving the first addendum to the Otis Elevator Company Service Agreement. BACKGROUND On September 21, 2006, the City Commission approved Resolution No. 2006-9810 ratifying a service agreement with Otis Elevator Company for the maintenance of three hydraulic elevators located in the Sunny Isles Beach Government Center. Since that time, the City opened Pelican Community Park Community Center (PCP) housing one elevator that is covered under a one year new product service warranty with Schindler Elevator Corporation. The elevator warranty expired April 29, 2009. As such, staff contacted Schindler Elevator and Gator Elevator for a quote for maintenance service, and their quotes were higher than Otis Elevator Company. Therefore, we are desirous of adding the PCP elevator to the Government Center's elevator agreement with Otis Elevator Company for an additional $230.00 per month. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The original five-year service agreement expires on February 1st, 2011. The City currently pays $829.20 per month for Otis Elevator Company to service the three elevators at Government Center, and with the additional $230.00 for PCP, the total would be $1,059.20 per month.
