1 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 2590 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RANKING THE <br /> SUBMITTALS TO PERFORM CONTINUING LANDSCAPE <br /> ARCHITECT SERVICES FOR THE CITY IN RESPONSE TO RFQ <br /> NO. 16-06-02 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br /> BEGIN NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE TOP RANKED FIRM IN <br /> ACCORDANCE WITH STATE LAW; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br /> MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AN <br /> AGREEMENT WITH THE TOP RANKED FIRM, PROVIDED <br /> SAID AGREEMENT IS APPROVED AS TO FORM AND LEGAL <br /> SUFFICIENCY BY THE CITY ATTORNEY; AUTHORIZING THE <br /> CITY MANAGER AND THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL <br /> THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the City is desirous of securing a firm to provide landscape architect <br /> services to the City; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City issued and advertised Request for Qualifications No. 16-06-02 <br /> Landscape Architect Services, for which eight (8) responses were received; and <br /> WHEREAS, after due consideration and evaluation, the City Manager recommends the <br /> City Commission qualify and rank the firms to perform landscape architect services for the City <br /> as follows: <br /> 1) O'Leary Richards Design Associates; <br /> 2) Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc.; and, <br /> 3) Calvin, Giordano & Associates; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to accept the recommendation of the City <br /> Manager and to authorize the City Manager or his designee to negotiate an agreement with the <br /> top ranked firm of O'Leary Richards Design Associates, and then with the next ranked firms, <br /> should negotiations with O'Leary Richards Design Associates be unsuccessful; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City is authorized to begin negotiating with the first ranked firm of <br /> O'Leary Richards Design Associates, to provide landscape architect services to the City, and if <br /> the City and O'Leary Richards Design Associates. cannot reach an agreement on a contract, the <br /> City reserves the right to terminate negotiations with O'Leary Richards Design Associates and <br /> begin negotiating with the second ranked firm of Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc., until a <br /> contract acceptable to the City has been executed and approved by the City Commission. If the <br /> City is unable to reach an agreement with the second ranked firm of Craven Thompson & <br /> Associates, Inc., the City reserves the right to undertake negotiations with the third ranked firm of <br /> Calvin, Giordano & Associates until a contract acceptable to the City has been executed and <br /> approved. <br /> R2016-Landscape Arch Srvs Qualifying Ranking (Rfq 16-06-02) Page 1 of 3 <br />
