RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 2.59 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE TO PURCHASE NECESSARY OFFICE AND OTHER SUPPLIES FROM HOME DEPOT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2016-2017, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($67,500.00), SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach currently purchases supplies and equipment for repair and maintenance of City-owned facilities, many of which are purchased from Home Depot; and WHEREAS, staff will piggyback from the contract between US Communities and Home Depot which offers a special pricing program for qualifying purchases with an annual volume rebate structure; and WHEREAS, Section 62-13(C) of the City Code provides the authority to access a competitively solicited contract from any other governmental organization; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to authorize the blanket purchase order for Home Depot for supplies and equipment, in an amount not to exceed Sixty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($67,500.00). NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorization to Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes a blanket purchase order to Home Depot in an amount not to exceed Sixty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars($67,500.00). The City Manager shall seek additional authority from the City Commission if the $67,500.00 cap is exceeded. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution will become effec ive upon adoption.
