Vera, Assistant City Manager - Service Division <br /> <br />January 28, 2010 <br /> <br />First Amendment to Heritage Park Parking Garage Contract <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution amending Heritage Park parking garage <br />contract. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />In June 18, 2009 under Resolution No. 2009-1434, the City Commission approved a contract <br />with Coastal Construction Company for the construction of Heritage Park and Parking Garage in <br />the amount not to exceed $9,250,000. <br /> <br />Under that same resolution the contract was bifurcated to allow the contractor to commence <br />construction of the parking garage portion of the property since the park portion was being <br />redesign. The City entered into a contract with the contractor for the construction of the parking <br />garage for an amount not to exceed $6,600,040. <br /> <br />The City has amended the original plans to change the facade of the garage to add a decorative <br />screening, additional masonry wall have been added and also to address comments from the Fire <br />Department. All these changes to the original plans have constituted a change order in an <br />amount not to exceed $903,427 to the contract for the construction of the parking garage. This <br />change order brings the agreement to an amount not to exceed $7,503,467.
