RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 2-(0 14-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RATIFYING THE DONATION OF A SURPLUS POLICE VEHICLE (2009 FORD CROWN VICTORIA) TO THE CITY OF CEDAR KEY, FLORIDA; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach and its Police Department regularly "swaps out" or transitions its vehicle fleet as the vehicles age; and WHEREAS, after vehicles have surpassed their usefulness to the Police Department in any capacity, they are sold for their value or donated to a worthy cause in need; and WHEREAS, on September 2, 2016 the City of Cedar Key, Florida, was devastated as Hurricane Hermine made landfall just to the north of them as a category 1 Hurricane; and WHEREAS, the City of Cedar Key lost the use of their City Hall, Police Department and most of their already small police fleet, and are in dire need of this vehicle; and WHEREAS, due to the urgent nature of this request, the City Manager immediately authorized the donation of a surplus vehicle; and WHEREAS, the City donated a surplus Police vehicle, a 2009 Ford Crown Victoria #0904, Vin# 2FAHP71V59X129521, to the City of Cedar Key, Florida. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Ratification of Donation of Surplus Police Vehicle. The City Commission hereby ratifies the donation of a surplus Police vehicle (2009 Ford Crown Victoria) to the City of Cedar Key, Florida. Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this resolution. Section 3. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
