The equipment shall be warranted to be free from defects in workmanship, <br />design and materials. If any part of the equipment should fail during the <br />warranty period, it shall be replaced in the machine(s) and the unit(s) <br />restored to service at no expense to the Owner. <br /> <br />C. The manufacturer's warranty period shall run concurrently with the <br />Contractor's warranty or guarantee period. No exception to this provision <br />shall be allowed. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining <br />equipment warranties in accordance with Section 01740 from each of the <br />respective suppliers or manufacturers for all the equipment specified under <br />Divisions 11 through 16. <br /> <br />D. In the event that the manufacturer is unwilling to provide a one year <br />warranty commencing at the time of Owner acceptance, the Contractor <br />shall obtain from the manufacturer a two (2) year warranty commencing at <br />the time of equipment delivery at the job site. <br /> <br />HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS PLAN <br /> <br />A. Within thirty days of the date of Notice to Proceed, the Contractor shall <br />submit to the Engineer and Owner a Hurricane Preparedness Plan. The <br />plan should outline the necessary measures which the Contractor proposes <br />to perform at no additional cost to the Owner in case of a hurricane warning. <br />The plan shall detail these measures with specific action items defining <br />responsible personnel. <br /> <br />B. In the event of inclement weather, or whenever Engineer shall direct; <br />Contractor will cause Subcontractors to protect carefully the Work and <br />materials against damage or injury from the weather. If, in the opinion of <br />the Engineer, any portion of Work or materials shall have been damaged or <br />injured by reason of failure on the part of Contractor or any Subcontractor to <br />so protect the Work, such Work and materials shall be removed and <br />replaced at the expense of the Contractor. <br /> <br />DISINFECTION <br /> <br />A. The Contractor shall clean, disinfect and bacteriologically test and clear, in <br />accordance with Chapter 17.22 of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) <br />and Section 01721, all water supply facilities affected by this project which <br />shall come into contact with water being treated or treated water prior to <br />placing the facility in operation. The above statement shall apply to both <br />new facilities installed, and existing facilities which are to be modified. <br /> <br />B. The Contractor shall employ a disinfection method approved by the <br />Engineer and Owner, and shall fully satisfy the Owner that adequate <br />disinfection has been achieved prior to placing a facility on line. <br /> <br />01030-3 <br /> <br />06-5723 <br />
