He was res~onsible for preparedness, <br />response and recovery activities and lead the Department through 8 major hurricanes during the 2004 and 2005 season, Mr. Day was <br />responsible for the reimbursement of approximately $1.5B of federal (FHWA & FEMA) funds. He was designated as the State of Florida <br />Emergency Response Team Leader for Emergency Support Function 1 (Transportation) and Function 3 (Public Works and Engineerinq).
