(FRA) was established in January 1987 by Mr. Frank R. Aleman, P.E. and several associates who were employed by Sperry Corporation (now UNISYS). Over the years, FRA has developed into a well-respected, highly technological private consulting engineering and surveying firm dedicated to providing professional services and solutions to numerous governmental and private agencies. Today, Mr. Aleman Is the President and sole owner of this corporation. I I I FRA is a Minority Owned Consulting Engineering & Surveying Firm. FRA's knowledge and expertise lay in Project Development and Environmental Studies; Major and Minor Highway Design - Roadway; Traffic Engineering and Operations Studies; Intelligent Transportation Systems Analysis Design and Implementation; Traffic Operations Design; Surveying and Mapping; Construction Engineering Inspection; Planning and Subsurface Utility Engineering. The FRA Team is comprised of approximately one hundred full-time professionals who take pride in doing their jobs exceptionally well. The firm has grown to five offices located throughout the State of Florida in Miami (headquarters), Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville and Tallahassee. I I As consulting engineers and surveyors, FRA conducts business primarily in the State of Florida, however, has customers throughout the United States, Central/South America and the Caribbean. Our largest single customer is the Florida Department of Transportation, though the customer list includes numerous other governmental agencies and many corporations in the private sector. I FRA has become well known for our specialty in the analysis, design, development and implementation of advanced traffic management, intelligent transportation and communication systems of all types. We are a high-tech firm with considerable investments in automation research, hardwarelsoftware development and computerization. Our software engineers have proven expertise in systems management an excellent track record in the design and implementation of complex traffic and transportation related systems. We develop application and controller (170, 2070) software as well as high tech communication systems. This organization brings a systems management approach to engineering solutions. Our engineering, management expertise and experience provide the ability to design, develop and manage total systems with varied requirements from the formulation stage through the operational, support and evaluation phases. I I For nearly a decade FRA has been providing services as the Engineer-Of-Record for various design-build contractors throughout state of Florida. The scope of design services provided by FRA encompass roadway, highway. communication, electrical, and design of cutting-edge-technology of ITS components. FRA has extensive experience and knowledge of scheduling challenges involved with the design-build projects. Our design team has successfully completed every project ahead of projected design schedule. I One of FRA's specialties remains in UTILITIES! FRA has worked with various FOOT Districts, Municipalities, Cities and Counties throughout the State in locating over 150,000 testholes and designating over 100,000 linear feet of underground utilities. We use cutting edge technologies whenever applicable, such as Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR). All of this and FRA's track record remains claim free! FRA currently holds 3 Districtwide Subsurface Utility Engineering Contracts with FOOT. I I In order to supplement and expand FRA's then existing survey services, FRA acquired an 18 year old survey and mapping firm in 2002, Fernando Z. Gatell, P.L.S., Inc. (FZG). FZG is now known as FRA, all of FZG's staff remained and we have since further expanded our combined survey resources by adding even more state-of-the-art equipment and survey personnel. FRA's survey experience includes both prime and subconsultant roles on numerous OM! Survey and Mapping contracts, as well as project specific design and construction contracts. I Additionally, FRA has been recognized by Hispanic Business Magazine, since 1998 among the "Top 500 largest Hispanic-owned Companies in the United States". Additionally, we have been recognized by the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce in Florida as 'One of the 100th Largest Hispanic Business Enterprises in Miami-Dade County". I I I.
