The Future Land Use Plan for Swmy Isles in not a :zoning map. The Future Land Use <br />Plan is concepwal and is created to serve as a guide for future detailed land use decisions <br />made in the context of implementing various components of the plan. Future Land Uses are <br />based on the Goals, Objectives and Policies adopted by the City Commission through this <br />Plan. <br /> <br />Land Use Goal: <br /> <br />PROVIDE THE BESf POSSIBLE DISfRIBUllON OF LAND USE AND SERVICES <br />TO MEET THE PHYSICAL, S<XllL, CULTURAL AND ECONOMIC NEEDS OF <br />THE PRESENT AND FlTfURE POPULATIONS IN A TIMELY AND EFFICIENT <br />MANNER lHAT WllL MAINfAIN OR IMPROVE mE QUALITY OF THE <br />NATURAL AND MAN-MADE ENVIRONMENf AND AMENTIlES. <br /> <br />Objective 1 <br /> <br />The location and configuration of urban growth through the year 2015 shall <br />emphasize the protection and preservation of existing residential areas and the <br />renewal, rehabilitation and redevelopment of obsolete commercial and beachfrollt <br />development. <br /> <br />Policies <br /> <br />IA. The City of Swmy Isles Beach shall give priority to in-fill development on vacant <br />sites, and redevelopment of existing, obsolete commercial and beachfront <br />development. <br /> <br />IB.
