Continue the City's active involvement with the Miami-Dade County <br />Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and the Miami-Dade Transit Agency <br />(MDTA) to provide for area-wide coordination relative to transit service and <br />safety. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />a) The City will work with the County to respond to transit user needs <br />by increasing transit service in those locations with a high demand. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />b) The City will continue to suppon County strategies making transit <br />more convenient which helps facilitate local traffic to use alternatives <br />to the Florida Intrastate Highway System to protect its interregional <br />and intrastate functions. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />c) Continue to cooperate with the County and MPO to help determine <br />if inter-modal terminals are needed in the City <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />d) Provide information to the County regarding the development of <br />future generators and attractors so that necessary considerations can <br />be included in transit planning. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />e) Pursue coordination and improvement of inter-County transit <br />services to better provide for convenient regional travel needs, <br />according to the adopted plans, within the Sunny Isles Beach area <br />through the MPO, the TCC, MDTA, and Broward County Transit. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />7B. The minimum peak-hour mass transit level of service shall be that all areas <br />within the City which have a combined resident and work force <br />population of more than 10,000 persons per square mile shall be <br />provided with public transit service having 6O-minute headways and an <br />average route spacing of one mile provided that: <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />The average combined population and employment density along <br />the corridor between the existing transit network and the area of <br />expansion exceeds 4,000 per square mile.
