<br />202.6 Number. A word importing the singular number may extend and be applied to <br />several persons or things as well as to one person or thing. The use of the plural <br />number shall be deemed to include any single person or thing. <br /> <br />202.7 ShaH May. The word "shall" is mandatory; "may" is permissive. <br /> <br />202.8 Tense. Words used in the past or present tense include the future as well as the past <br />or present. <br /> <br />202.9 Written or in writing. The term "written" or "in writing" shall be construed to <br />include any representation of words, letters or figures, whether by printing or <br />otherwise. <br /> <br />202.10 Year. The word "year" shall mean a calendar year, unless otherwise indicated. <br /> <br />202.11 Day. The word "day" shall mean a calendar day, unless otherwise indicated. <br /> <br />202.12 Boundaries. Interpretations regarding boundaries of zoning districts shown on the <br />Official Zoning Map shall be made in accordance with the following: <br /> <br />1 ) Centerlines as boundaries. Where such boundaries are indicated as <br />approximately following the center1ines of streets, alleys, or waterways, such <br />lines shall be construed to be such boundaries. <br /> <br />2) Property lines and the like as boundaries. When such boundaries are indicated as <br />approximately following the lines of lots or other parcels of record, such lot or <br />parcel lines shall be deemed to be such boundaries. <br /> <br />3) Boundaries dividing a Parcel of Land. Where a zoning district boundary divides <br />a parcel of land, the location of such boundary, unless dimensions shown on the <br />map indicate the same, shall be determined by use of the scale appearing <br />thereon, and scaled to the nearest foot. <br /> <br />4) Boundaries in or adjacent to bodies of water. <br /> <br />a) Where district boundaries appear to follow shorelines or centerlines of <br />bodies of water, they shall be construed as following such shorelines or <br />centerlines.
