Edelcup /\JI1r <br /> <br />DATE: March 16, 2006 <br /> <br />RE: Ordinance mandating that High-Rise buildings, with a height of 75-feet or <br />higher, have alternate energy sources to operate at least one (1) elevator during a <br />declared state of emergency <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />This Ordinance is being presented for your consideration and approval. <br /> <br />REASONS <br /> <br />This is a companion ordinance to the previously adopted ordinance requlflng gas stations <br />operating within the City limits to have generators during a declared state of emergency. <br /> <br />This Ordinance has been created to require owners and operators of High-Rise buildings, with a <br />height of 75-feet or higher, to also have an alternate source of energy, including generators, <br />sufficient to operate at least one (1) elevator unit per High-Rise building to insure uninterrupted <br />services to the public during a declared state of emergency. <br /> <br />NE:PSJ:pr <br /> <br />City Commission <br />A.lternate Energy Sources for High~Rise buildings <br />
