<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2007-~ <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />SECTIONS 265-51, 265-56, AND 265-57 OF THE SIGN CODE; <br />ESTABLISHING NEW REQUIREMENTS FOR WINDOW AND <br />TEMPORARY SIGNS; ESTABLISHING NEW <br />REQUIREMENTS FOR APPROVAL OF MURALS AND <br />GRAPHICS FOR TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION FENCE; <br />PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR <br />SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE <br />CODE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission has a desire to protect the public safety and welfare <br />and promote positive conditions for sign communication to enable business identification while <br />eliminating visual clutter in the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to amend the sign code to address certain <br />issues relating to window and temporary signs. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TIlE CITY COMMISSION OF TIlE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses arc hercby ratified <br />and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this Ordinance <br />upon adoption hereof. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Amendment. Section 265-5 I of the Sign Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />~ 265-51. Definitions. <br /> <br />WINDOW SIGN m_ A sign attached to or painted on the inside of a storefront window or door <br />or anv sign located within a window or upon the inside surface or outside surface of the window <br />glass used to attract such attention located within the premises which is located within three (3) <br />feet from the window opening. An)' si!;n that can be seen from the outside whether or not attach <br />to storefront glass or door. (i.e., paper, neon, etc.) <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Amendment. Section 265-56 of the Sign Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />~ 265-52. Prohibited signs. <br /> <br />A.
