John Szerlag, City Manager

VIA:

Jorge Vera, Assistant City Manager
Rick Conner, Director of Public Works ifj
June 4, 2007

FROM:

DATE:

RE:

Staff Report on the results of the noise tests run on the Oceans IV
parking garage exhaust fans

Per the memorandum provided to you with the recommendations for adoption of the
revised Noise Ordinance, we have had the opportunity to analyze the results of the
tests run on the exhaust fans at Ocean's IV. It is our opinion, based on the detailed
report provided by our Sound Consultant, that Oceans IV would be in compliance with
the redrafted proposed ordinance if they install the C02 sensors and run all of the
northern facing fans on an intermittent basis (based solely on gas buildup), utilizing
only the four eastern most exhaust fans on a continuous basis.

Taken in conjunction with the added definition of "Continuous Noise", we believe that
this should address all concerns as they relate to the City, and Code Enforcement
issues regarding this development.

Agenda Item

91\.
~-2l-D7

Date
