<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2009-J.!:lJr& <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF THE DELL EQUAL <br />LOGIC SYSTEM FROM DELL FOR DATA STORAGE, IN <br />AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY -FOUR <br />THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED NINETY-NINE DOLLARS <br />($54,499.00), AS OUTLINED IN THE QUOTE A TT ACHED <br />HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, many of the City Departments are in the process of scanning documents <br />into Laserfiche for retention in a digital format; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City's storage device is failing, as it is reaching its maximum storage <br />capacity; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dell has an Equal Logic System which provides ongoing support and the <br />capacity needed to support our infrastructure not only for the immediate demand but for future <br />storage demands; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, staff requested a quote from Dell, a leader in the computer industry, for said <br />equipment and associated software; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Dell has provided a quote under the State of Florida Enterprise Contract <br />#250-000-09-1, for the purchase of the Dell Equal Logic System for data storage, in an amount <br />not to exceed Fifty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Nine Dollars ($54,499.00), attached <br />hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of Purchase. The City Commission hereby authorizes the purchase <br />of the Dell Equal Logic System, under the State of Florida Enterprise Contract #250-000-09-1, in <br />an amount not to exceed Fifty-Four Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-Nine Dollars ($54,499.00), <br />as outlined in the quote attached hereto as Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all <br />things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
