<br />" <br />'.)1 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2010- -L5.1q <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SIGN OR RENEW ALL <br />REQUIRED CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE <br />ORDERS THAT AFFECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE <br />OF THE CITY, DURING THE SUMMER RECESS PERIOD FROM <br />THE LAST CITY COMMISSION MEETING IN JUL Y 2010 <br />THROUGH THE FIRST REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING IN <br />SEPTEMBER 2010, SUBJECT TO AFTER-THE-FACT <br />RATIFICATION AT THE SEPTEMBER 16,2010 CITY COMMISSION <br />MEETING; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Sunny Isles Beach City Commission is not scheduled to meet between <br />July 15,2009 and the next regular meeting for September 16,2010; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there may be new or existing contracts that require approval during the time <br />period between the last City Commission meeting in July 2010 and the first regular meeting in <br />September 2010; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to assign certain powers to the City Manager <br />or his Designee to enable them to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders <br />that affect the health, safety, or welfare of the City, during the time period between the last City <br />Commission meeting in July 2010 and the first regular meeting in September 2010; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission at the first <br />regular City Commission meeting on September 16, 2010, seeking after-the-fact ratification of <br />any actions relating to the aforestated authorizations. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authority of City Manager or Designee. The City Manager or his Designee is <br />hereby authorized to sign or renew all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that <br />affect the health, safety, or welfare of the City during the summer recess period, from the last <br />City Commission meeting in July 2010 through the first regular City Commission meeting in <br />September 2010, subject to after-the-fact ratification at the September 16,2010 City Commission <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
