Grandinetti, Police Captain <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />7/15/2010 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Authorization to Apply for, Receive and Expend Grant Money from <br />the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Oriented Policing <br />Services (COPS) - Technology Program for the enhancement of <br />Law Enforcement Technology (ie: Automatic Tag Readers, <br />Advisory Radio Station, Defibrillators and Uninterrupted Power <br />System). <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve a Resolution authorizing <br />the Mayor to apply for, receive, and expend monies from the U.S. Department of <br />Justice, Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) - Technology Program <br />in the amount of $200,000.00 <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been invited to apply for <br />grant funding under the FY2010 COPS Technology Program in the amount of <br />$200,000.00. These funds are for the purchase of law enforcement technology <br />equipment that will enhance I implement new or current technology within the <br />police department. . <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> <br />If approved, these funds will be utilized to purchase 5 x Automatic Tag Readers, <br />1 x Advisory Radio Station, 48 x Defibrillators and 1 x Uninterrupted Power <br />System for a total cost not to exceed $200,000.00 <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />.
