Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting September 15,2016 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida 10K. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida,Ratifying the Second Amendment to the Agreement with Alex David and Associates, Inc. for Additional Planning and Zoning Services, in an Amount Not to Exceed $10,000.00; Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Planning and Zoning Administrator Claudia Hasbun reported this is to take the contract to the end of October. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Aelion moved and Commissioner Levin seconded a motion to approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2016-2589 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. IOL. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Ranking the Submittals to Perform Continuing Landscape Architect Services for the City in Response to RFQ No. 16-06-02 and Authorizing the City Manager to Begin Negotiations with the Top Ranked Firm in Accordance with State Law; Authorizing the City Manager to Negotiate and Enter into an Agreement with the Top Ranked Firm, Provided Said Agreement is Approved as to Form and Legal Sufficiency by the City Attorney; Authorizing the City Manager and the City Attorney to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and City Manager Russo reported that we received eight (8) responses and we ranked three (3) top firms: 1) O'Leary Richards Design Associates; 2) Craven Thompson and Associates; and 3) Calvin Giordano and Associates. All three firms are highly qualified. Public Speakers: None Commissioner Aelion moved and vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the resolution. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Declaring Principles of Inclusion for Individuals with Autism and Other Special Needs,and Urging Action by National, State,and Local Governments,Businesses,and Residential Communities Consistent with these Principles; Providing for an Effective Date. Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Vice Mayor Gatto reported that there was a program that was brought to our attention called the Wallet Card Program. It is related to identifying individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD,and she introduced Jeniffer Viscarra the Chairperson of the City Advisory Committee of which Committee is a liaison between the City and the Commission. They have quarterly meetings and she would encourage as many people as possible to go.
