RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 9.to A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND DADE COUNTY POLICE BENEVOLENT ASSOCIATION ("PBA")ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT"A"IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME FORM; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on March 15, 2012 the City of Sunny Isles Beach entered into a Collective Bareainine Agreement("Agreement')with the Dade County Police Benevolent Association regarding terms and conditions of employment for police officers in the bargaining unit; and WHEREAS.the Agreement has expired and the parties have negotiated a new Agreement;and WHEREAS, the renegotiations have been concluded and the terms and conditions memorialized in the agreement; and WHEREAS,the City Commission of Sunny Isles Beach desires to approve the new Collective Bargaining Agreement for a period of three years. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Collective Bareainine Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Police Benevolent Association("PBA")in substantially the same form attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of the Mayor. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute said Agreement. Section 3. Authorization of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and the City Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 4. Effective Date.
