BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)
Office suite for a doctor of dermatology and cutaneous surgery. As an educator, her office uses the latest technology combined with customized
patient treatment. Her evolving practice demanded a unique design, which conveyed a relaxed and healing environment (art throughout was to be
the doctor's own award winning photography), The reception area is open to the service areas; walls are penetrated by glass features. The curve of
the "hello" reception desk continues through the partition into the "good bye" section. This curve is mirrored, across the room, with the medical
assistant's center. Materials throughout relate to nature and sustainability - sandstone, cork and recyclable carpet, wood ceiling inserts and tumbled
glass tiles. The design resembles a spa with soothing colors and a waterfall that evokes a feeling of calmness and tranquility - a frothy sea green and
a sandy cream flow throughout the suite. Roomy exam and treatment rooms continue the soft color scheme but feature modern treatment "tables"
and articulated exam lights. In contrast, the doctor's offices are small but well appointed with open/floating desk units, light in both color and feel.
Windows have sheer adjustable treatments. Each office features a vibrantly colored task chair. The doctor's glass topped desk is underplayed by
one of her awarded photos. A gallery hanging system accommodated the doctor's changing photo display; and is intended as a gallery for the
display of artists mentored by the doctor. Fully upholstered waiting room chairs hug the walls, but are off-set by floating, organically shaped, seating
platforms. A formalized datum surrounding a whimsical feature.
