I COURTHOUSE <br />Miami, Florida <br /> <br />architecture . engineering <br /> <br /> <br />ACAI Associates served under a 5 year <br />(extended to 61/2 years) Open End, Indefinite <br />Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract with <br />GSA to provide unlimited Architectural/ <br />Engineering and Construction Management <br />services. The work includes Courthouses <br />and Federal Buildings throughout Southeast <br />Florida region and was expanded to include <br />Ocala and airports (for TSA). <br /> <br />The David Dyer Federal Courthouse Building <br />is of 1926 Vintage and is in the National <br />Register of important Historic Buildings. As <br />part of its long range responsibility, ACAI has <br />been charged with the task of refurbishing. <br />updating and preserving this magnificent <br />structure. one system at a time. The facility <br />has multiple tenancy including the 4th District <br />Court; the US Marshal's Office and GSA. <br />Project Assignments included the following: <br /> <br />1. Prepare Master Plan for facility, pre- <br />serve Historic Building and Courtroom: <br /> <br />2. Design the retrofitting of ballistic glaz- <br />ing panels to the first floor Judges' cham- <br />bers. <br /> <br />3. Rewire existing roll-up gates to emer- <br />gency generator circuit. <br /> <br />4. Window retrofit and life safety improve- <br />ments. <br /> <br />5. Phased total HVAC system retrofit <br />upgrade and consolidation for entire facil- <br />ity. <br /> <br />6. Exterior lighting upgrade. <br /> <br />7.
