BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost)

Before

After

Following the completion of M.C. Harry's design for a major addition to the
FGCU Library, the existing 45,000 sf library building was completely reno-
vated to alter its internal functions as well as update outdated life safety
systems. Original library functions were transformed into computer lab
classrooms, a suite of administrative offices, a conference room for library
staff, group meeting rooms for students, multimedia viewing rooms, and
the latest plugged-in teaching method, a SCALE-UP (Student-Centered
Active Learning Environment for Undergraduate Programs) classroom /
learning studio. The redesigned building even accommodates a Star-
bucks Coffee concession, which is cleverly separated from the library
functions for sound control and security purposes.

O FLORIDA
GULF COAST
UNIVERSITY
