BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, end cost) <br />This project for the City of Sunny Isles <br />included the schematic design and <br />feasibility study of a K-8 Center as a part of <br />the city's mission to build new parks, improve <br />infrastructure, and lay the groundwork for <br />future development. This design solution <br />presented by Architeknics, Inc. in an effort <br />commissioned by Miami-Dade County Public <br />Schools acknowledged the development of <br />the surrounding area within the last few <br />years and proposed an equally high-density <br />school facility solution efficiently organized <br />to provide a learning environment for 1,600 <br />children. The school design fully developed <br />its 2.39-acre site and utilizes a partnership <br />agreement to share its exterior recess <br />activities and physical education programs <br />with an adjacent City Park. The resulting <br />design is a 4-story building that utilizes <br />specially designed elevators and escalators <br />to move both students and staff between <br />floors in new and innovative ways. Each floor <br />of the school is representative of a function <br />or grade of learning. In essence, the building <br />is composed of 3 schools under a single roof. <br /> <br />Size: 147,390 Sq.
