Continuing education included training course in theory and practice of applying Subsurface Interface <br />Radar technology in engineering and geophysical investigations with Geophysical Survey Systems, Inc. ofNH. <br /> <br />PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: Professional Engineer - Florida (PE 34715). <br />Florida Special (Threshold) Inspector - Special Inspector (No. 400) <br />Florida Professional Geologist (PG 1030) <br /> <br />EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: <br /> <br />Wine:erter Laboratories. Inc, (March, 2004 to date) As Chief Engineer, manages all field and laboratory operations. <br />Responsible for all reporting produced by the firm. Provides geophysical and geotechnical consulting services, utilizing <br />GPR/SIR equipment. Provides structural/threshold inspection services as Special (Threshold) Inspector. In charge of the <br />firm's FOOT-approved soils laboratory. Responsible for the performance of quarry sampling and testing performed by <br />the laboratory, standard and modified proctors and field density testing. Responsible for all required geotechnical testing, <br />analysis and foundation design, and pile installation inspection. <br /> <br />Several major projects performed entirely under Mr. Schuler's responsibility include: (I) Multi-purpose Municipal <br />Parking Facility - Meridian Avenue & 18th Street, Miami Beach, for City of Miami Beach Capital Improvements and <br />Perkins & Will; (2) 1450 Brickell Avenue, Miami, a 35 story corporate office tower precertified as a LEED Gold Green <br />Building and the most wind resistant structure in the downtown area: (3) South Miami-Dade County Cultural Arts Center, <br />10900 S.W. 211 th Street, Miami, for Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and Tower Group, a $38 million <br />multi-disciplinary center for the performing arts. <br /> <br />Some Miami-Dade County projects for which Mr. Schuler has been responsible include: (I) Miami International Airport - <br />Utilized GPRlSIR for underground utilities identification and subsurface conditions for foundation construction of the <br />MIA Mover APM System (elevated passenger railway), and identification of subsurface conditions (voids) utilizing <br />GPRlSIR under Runway 9 - 27; (2) Port of Miami (Miami-Dade County), for determination of the extent of the open <br />sinkhole and the location of other voids beneath the Wharf No. 1 driveways. Utilized SIRlGPR and corings to determine <br />sinkhole and voids' locations and extent; (3)Miami-Dade County Public Works - Soils testing and geotechnical site <br />inspections for roadway improvement projects; (4) Miami-Dade Water & Sewer Department, for material quantity <br />evaluation following underground utilities installation. Utilized SIRlGPR and corings to determine utilities location and <br />depth, fill material and pavement surfacing thicknesses. <br /> <br />RHS Technical Services. Inc. (1989 to date) Founded the firm in February, 1989, initially specializing in asbestos and <br />environmental consulting services as well as providing services in geotechnical and structural engineering. Since 1995, <br />the firm developed its specialties in structural engineering and geophysical/geotechnical consulting services. Some <br />geophysical projects utilizing SIRlGPR surveys include North Terminal Expansion at Miami International Airport; <br />LaGuardia International Airport runways and taxiways that extend over water; Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) <br />Airport & LaRomana (Dominican Republic) Airport; and 2 canal bridges in Miami-Dade County, to identiry bridge <br />reinforcement to facilitate widening the bridges. <br /> <br />Testwell Craig Laboratories of Florida, Inc.
