Involved in restoring and creating wetland <br /> habitats within 28.4 acres of upland and wetland pastureland heavily infested with invasive/nuisance species. <br /> Existing isolated tree islands containing native trees and shrubs were identified and protected from mechanical <br /> disturbance, while the site was cleared of exotic trees and the marsh and slough habitats were excavated. After <br /> clearing and excavation, native plant species were installed. It <br /> also involved creating a 204 are, high-quality fresh water wetland system, a mix of forested wetland, marsh, hammock <br /> open water habitat, and Wood Stork feeding areas.
