Environmental assessments and impact statements Construction ManagemenUlnspection/Testing KHA offers complete construction observation and administrative services, including cost estimating, assisting in the bidding process, construction administration, reviewing monthly pay estimates, evaluating equipment delivered as compared to shop drawings, coordinating punch list observations, coordinating materials testing, and providing a full- or part-time construction observation representative. KHA provides construction phase services for many of our public- and private-sector development projects. Hurricane Recovery and Debris Monitoring Services KHA has the ability to offer hurricane preparedness and comprehensive disaster management and recovery services. We have a full staff of expert forensic engineers and analysts in West Palm Beach who have extensive experience assessing the damage to structures and facilities caused by wind, flooding, and a combination of storm forces. Services we provide include structural integrity assessment; emergency operation recommendations; preparation of detailed damage reports and repair estimates for use in collecting Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) or insurance reimbursements; and emergency repair plans and specifications. KHA provided structural analyses for several municipalities before and after the hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005. For example, we assisted South Martin Regional Utilities (SMRU) with their emergency response needs. Our in-house staff was on-site within hours of the storm and began assessing buildings and other utility-owned facilities. Our reports were instrumental in SMRU's ability to maximize both their FEMA and insurance reimbursements within a minimum amount of time. We were also asked by the Town of Jupiter Parks and Recreation Department to review all of the sports lighting facilities in the Town's Park system after the passing of the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes. The Parks Department's confidence in our abilities was demonstrated by their closing of the parks to public use until we were able to review the light poles and determine them to be safe. Our comprehensive review after Hurricane Jeanne in 2004 allowed the Town of Jupiter to save hundreds of thousands of dollars in pole replacement costs that were recommended by others during a previous review. General Design Work Civil engineering forms the backbone of our experience and qualifications to serve as the City's professional engineering consultant, and KHA has the in-house capabilities to provide you with any design need that may emerge.
