<br />\\V <br /> <br />PROJECT HISTORY <br /> <br /> <br />Project Description: <br /> <br />Max Strang Residence <br />Structural Engineering Design <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Diego Passarella, P.E. worked with Max Strang (Max Strang Architects) to create a tranquil and <br />aesthetical retreat. This two-story single family home is located in the City of Coral Gables, in Miami, <br />Florida. It averages 8,000 square feet, constructed with pre-stressed concrete planks bearing on <br />engineered unit masonry block walls, all supported on a shallow spread footing type foundation <br />system, The entire second level, (terrace), is sheltered by industrial steel I-beams supported on steel <br />columns. '-r- ~ <br /> <br />Mr. Diego Passarella, formerly the President at Columbia Engineering, was instrumental in the addition <br />of the Early Childhood School at the Temple Kol AMI facility in Plantation Florida. Mr. Passarella was <br />the head of the Team that provided the Structural Design services for a one-story addition to an <br />existing building. The addition was added to house multiple offices, classrooms, and other features <br />such as libraries and utility rooms, <br /> <br />The building is 23,000SF (+/- 2,000m2), providing 16 new classrooms equipped with the latest <br />educational technology, each one with its own restroom. In addition to a new library, teacher's break <br />room, and a multi-purpose room, the new building will provide additional storage and office space to <br />the existing community. 4 to 5 feet of fill was required to raise the grade at the location of the <br />planned addition to match the grade of the existing building. A parking lot was constructed to the <br />south of the planned addition. <br />
