BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT AND RELEVANCE TO THIS CONTRACT (Include scope, size, and cost) <br /> <br />(305) 443-2933 <br /> <br />Structural design for the replacement of the 4,500 square feet cafeteria floor and the <br />first floor exterior corridor slab of 7,200 square feet, in this building dating from 1942, <br />The main structural concrete beams in the cafeteria remained in place since they had been <br />recently repaired and the new design consisted of a system of steel joists and metal deck <br />spanning between the existing concrete beams, Two challenging features in this project were <br />that all works were carried out through a crawl space of approximately 3 feet below the <br />first level of the cafeteria building; and that the existing corridor slab at the perimeter <br />of the building had to be demolished and replaced in alternating 10-feet sections, since <br />electrical conducts remained hanging from the slab during the construction process. The <br />concrete beams supporting the corridor slab were repaired as needed, Eastern Engineering <br />Group prepared structural construction plans and specifications and provided construction <br />administration services for the General Contractor of the project, <br /> <br /> <br />25.
