RESOLUTION NO. 2010-MS A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA APPROVING AN AGREEMENT TO RET AIN THE SERVICES OF THE LAW FIRMS OF STEARNS WEAVER MILLER WEISSLER ALHADEFF & SITTERS ON, PA., TO REPRESENT THE CITY IN LEGAL MATTERS PERTAINING TO THE NEGOTIATIONS OF A COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Attorney wishes to retain the services of the law firm of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. to provide legal services in connection with the negotiations; and WHEREAS, the law Firm of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. is highly qualified to represent the City as special counsel and have agreed to provide discount rates to the City; and WHEREAS, the City Attorney desires to enter into an agreement to retain the services of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of the Agreement. The City Commission hereby approves the retainer agreements for of Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. as special Counsel at an hourly rate not to exceed One Hundred Seventy Dollars ($170.00) per hour. Section 2. Authorization of the City Attorney. The City Attorney is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this agreement. Section 3. Effective Date.
