His experience covers every aspect of architectural acoustics, noise and vibration. • An early theatre project was the 250 -seat theatre in • midtown New York. This project included flexible acous- tics that allowed the space to perform well for both live music and reproduced program material: Visually con- cealed but acoustically accessible motorized curtains • were implemented to accomplish the needed changes in reverberation characteristics. • As the technology of electronic architecture has matured • into viable systems on the market, he has implemented this cost effective approach to solving the multi -use • auditorium dilemma: The 800 seat auditorium atCorning Glass in upstate New York was programmed for "every- thing from boat shows, through banquets, stockholders meetings, movies, dance with live orchestra, theatre, • jazz, chamber and symphonic music." It has been successful forthis extreme range of acoustical as well as • architectural demands; the raked seating can be fully retracted; the orchestra pit lift accommodates to pit/flat • floor /raked seating configurations. The acoustics follow the use with literally the touch of a button. • FDCA has been the acoustical consultantforthe renova- tion of the Schmidt Theatre at the FAU Boca Raton campus, which will open this fall.
