added and amount equal to twenty five percent (25 %) of the sum thereof which <br />shall be considered as full compensation for general supervision and the <br />furnishing and repairing of small tool, and ordinary equipment used on the <br />Contract, such as picks, hand shovel, plows, scrapers, road graders, etc. <br />b. For all materials used, the Contractor shall receive the actual cost of such <br />materials, delivered at the site, as shown by original receipt bills, but no <br />percentage shall be allowed on it. The City retains the right to audit all work <br />performed on a force account basis for a period of one (1) year after acceptance of <br />the work by the City. <br />C. For any special equipment or machinery, such as power driven rollers, tractors, <br />trucks shovels, drills, concrete mixers, pumps and hoists, required for the <br />economical performance of the work, the Engineer shall allow the Contractor a <br />reasonable rental price for each and every hour that said special equipment is in <br />use of the work, to which sum no percentage shall be added. <br />The Compensation, as herein provided, shall be received by the Contractor as payment in <br />full for extra work done on a " Force Account" Basis. <br />The Contractor's representative and the Inspector shall prepare records of extra work <br />done on a "Force Account " basis at the end of each day. Copies of these records shall be <br />made in duplicate upon forms provided for this purpose by the Inspector and signed by <br />both the Inspector and the Contractor's representative; one copy being forwarded, <br />respectively, to the Engineer or his authorized representative and to the Contractor. All <br />claims for extra work done on a " Force Account" basis shall be submitted, as <br />hereinbefore provided, by the Contractor upon certified statement, to which shall be <br />attached original receipted bills covering the cost of and the freight charges, and hauling <br />on all materials used in such work, and said statements shall be submitted to the Engineer <br />on the current estimate of the month in which the work was actually done. <br />14. Hurricane or Disaster Services: <br />The Contractor, by accepting the award of this contact, recognizes and agrees that should <br />a hurricane or other severe and catastrophic disaster affect the Dade County area during <br />the performance of the work, the contractor shall provide services contracted for, during <br />the contract period, at the unit prices bid to the City, at the same or different locations <br />from those covered by this contract. For emergency services and conditions not addressed <br />by this Contract, the Contractor agrees to negotiate reasonable prices and terms with the <br />City for any disaster relief work required by the City. In all instance, the contactor agrees <br />to negotiate reasonable time extensions for performance of disaster relief work. <br />15. Legal Restrictions, Permit and Traffic Provisions: <br />The Contractor shall procure, at his own expense, all necessary licenses and permits and <br />shall give due adequate notices to those in control of all properties, which may be <br />affected by his operations. The Contractor shall conform to all applicable laws, <br />regulations, or ordinances with regard to labor employed, hours of work and his general <br />operations. <br />General Specifications Page 8 of 16 <br />
