Use <br />' stainless steel 300 series alloy where joining dissimilar materials and <br />weather seal. Use exposed fasteners only where indicated. Perform <br />drilling and tapping at shop. Provide adhesive sealant, and other <br />tnecessary materials as specified by CONSULTANT. <br />3. Dissimilar Materials: Where metal surfaces will be in contact with <br />dissimilar materials, coat the surfaces with epoxy paint or provide other <br />means of <br />' dielectric separation as recommended by manufacturer to prevent galvanic <br />corrosion, separate all ferrous and non - ferrous metals with non - conductive <br />gaskets, provide stainless steel fasteners to secure ferrous to non - ferrous <br />I metals. Apply a bituminous coating to all metal surfaces that come in <br />contact to any earth work, fill, etc. to resist corrosion. <br />E. Hardware: Provide all incidental hardware necessary for the proper functioning of <br />signs. External hardware shall conform to the external appearance of the sign and <br />' be tamper - proof. <br />2.04 SHOP APPLICATION OF SIGN <br />A. Powdercoat and/or Linear Polyurethane Finishes: Clean the surfaces as required- <br />for proper adhesion of coatings. Use 3M Co. "Scotch Brite" pads with cleanser <br />and water, and/or chemically treat as recommended by paint manufacturer to <br />remove deleterious film or residue. <br />' 1. Primer: Provide in strict accordance with paint manufacturer's <br />recommendations as required for proper adhesion and application of <br />finish. <br />2. Powdercoat and/or Linear Polyurethane Paint: Provide pre - treatment and <br />primer in accordance with manufacturer's recommendation. <br />3. Powdercoat and/or Clear Linear Polyurethane Finish: Provide pre- <br />treatment, primer, and gloss finish coatings in accordance with <br />' manufacturer's recommendations. Apply I.S. to 2.0 mils (0.0375 to 0.050 <br />mm) dry film thickness. Apply in 2.0 mils (0.050) dry film thickness as <br />recommended by manufacturer. <br />2.05 APPLICATION OF GRAPHICS <br />' 02841 -7 <br />
