SECTION 01550 <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL <br />Unless specifically provided otherwise, the CONTRACTOR shall comply with the following as a minimum. <br />Where the Work is carried on, in or adjacent to any road, street, alley, or public place, the CONTRACTOR shall at <br />his own cost and expense furnish and erect such barricades, fences, lights, danger signals, shall provide such <br />' watchmen, and shall provide such other precautionary measures for the protection of persons or property and of the <br />Work as are necessary. Barricades shall be painted in a color that will be visible at night. From sunset to sunrise the <br />CONTRACTOR shall furnish and maintain at least one light at each barricade and sufficient number of barricades <br />shall be erected to keep vehicles from driving on or into any Work under construction. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />famish watchmen in sufficient numbers to protect the Work. All lights, barricades, or other similar protective or <br />directional devices shall be furnished, installed, operated, maintained, and removed in strict accordance with the <br />standards established under State Of Florida Roadway Design and Construction Standards and USDOT Manual of <br />Uniform Traffic Control Devices, latest edition. <br />The CONTRACTOR will be held responsible for all damage to the Work due to failure of barricades, signs, lights, <br />and watchman to protect it, and whenever evidence is found of such damage, the CONTRACTOR shall immediately <br />remove the damaged portion and replace it at his cost and expense. The CONTRACTORS responsibility for the <br />maintenance of barricades, signs, and lights, and for providing watchmen shall not cease until the Project shall have <br />been accepted by The City. All traffic control devices including but not limited to: <br />1. Signs <br />' 2. Delineateors <br />3. Barricades <br />1 shall conform to the latest edition of US DOT MUTCD and any regulations established by the State of Florida and <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach. <br />Where barricades are to remain in place during the night, battery operated amber flashing lights shall be attached to <br />1 the barricades and shall be check each night to ensure operation. The CONTRACTOR shall designate responsible <br />employee to see that lights are operating at all times. The CONTRACTOR shall use only battery powered lights, <br />enclosed lanterns or other lights satisfactory to the CONSULTANT and The City. <br />No roadway shall be closed overnight. CONTRACTOR shall provide a safe passable roadway. Roadways shall be <br />passable with at least one lane of traffic. <br />END OF SECTION <br />1 01550-1 <br />
