Unauthorized Excavation: Removal of materials beyond indicated <br />subgrade elevations or dimensions without specific direction. <br />Unauthorized excavation, as well as remedial work directed by <br />Engineer, shall be at Contractor's expense. <br />' <br />C. Additional Excavation: <br />1. When unsuitable bearing materials are encountered at required <br />subgrade elevations, carry excavations deeper and replace <br />excavated material as directed by Engineer. <br />2.
