Unauthorized Excavation: Removal of materials beyond indicated subgrade elevations or dimensions without specific direction. Unauthorized excavation, as well as remedial work directed by Engineer, shall be at Contractor's expense. ' C. Additional Excavation: 1. When unsuitable bearing materials are encountered at required subgrade elevations, carry excavations deeper and replace excavated material as directed by Engineer. 2.
