a <br />I <br />r <br />1� <br />I <br />safety considerations shall exceed all others and the Contractor's schedule, <br />plans and work shall at all times be subject to alteration and revision if <br />necessary for above considerations. <br />C. The Engineer and Owner reserve the right to require the Contractor to work <br />24 hours per day in all cases where, in their opinion, interference with <br />operation of the system may result. <br />D. In no case will the Contractor be permitted to interfere with the existing <br />system until all materials, supplies, equipment, tools and incidentals <br />necessary to complete the interfering portion of the work are on the site. All <br />existing utilities shall be pothole located prior to construction of conflicting <br />yard piping. <br />1.05 UTILITY CROSSINGS <br />A. It is intended that wherever existing utilities such as water, chemical, <br />electrical or other service lines must be crossed, deflection of the conduit <br />within recommended limits and cover shall be used to satisfactorily clear the <br />obstruction unless otherwise indicated on the Drawings. However, when in <br />the opinion of the Owner or Engineer this procedure is not feasible he may <br />direct the use of fittings for a utility crossing as detailed on the Drawings. All <br />existing utilities shall be pothole located prior to construction of conflicting <br />yard piping. <br />1.06 WARRANTIES <br />' 07/03 <br />A. All equipment supplied under these Specifications shall be warranted by the <br />Contractor and the equipment manufacturers for a period of one (1) year, <br />unless otherwise specified. Warranty period shall commence on the date of <br />Owner acceptance. <br />B. The equipment shall be warranted to be free from defects in workmanship, <br />design and materials. If any part of the equipment should fail during the <br />warranty period, it shall be replaced in the machine(s) and the unit(s) <br />restored to service at no expense to the Owner. <br />C. The manufacturer's warranty period shall run concurrently with the <br />Contractor's warranty or guarantee period. No exception to this provision <br />shall be allowed. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining <br />equipment warranties in accordance with Section 01740 from each of the <br />respective suppliers or manufacturers for all the equipment specified under <br />Divisions 11 through 16. <br />01030 -2 03- 4138.A <br />
