t <br />Fi <br />IPART 1 -GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />SECTION 02481 <br />SHRUB AND TREE RELOCATION <br />A. Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment and services to <br />' complete the Fine Grading work, as indicated on the drawings, as <br />specified herein or both, except as for items specifically indicated as <br />"NIC ITEMS ". <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br />A. Section 02490 - Trees, Plants, and Groundcover <br />1 1.03 DESCRIPTION <br />A. Plant materials to be relocated on site are designated on the drawings <br />or as directed by the Landscape Architect. <br />B. The Contractor's crew utilized for the relocation of existing trees and <br />shrubs shall have minimum five years experience in relocation of <br />existing plant materials and be recognized by the American Association <br />of Nurserymen. <br />C. Existing trees to remain shall be protected during all construction <br />phases as noted on demolition plan. Any trees or shrubs scarred or <br />destroyed designated to remain will be replaced at the Contractor's <br />expense, with similar species, size and quality. <br />D. Remove other trees, saplings, shrubs, bushes, vines and undergrowth <br />as necessary and as directed by the Landscape Architect to <br />accommodate new plantings. Prepare areas to be planted per <br />Specification Sections 02484, 02487, and 02490. <br />E. Resulting tree pits and shrub bed pits of relocated material shall be <br />backfilled with clean fill and brought back flush with surrounding grade <br />if required. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to correct <br />problems caused by erosion, wind, etc., in the reclaimed area where <br />he has dug. <br />In areas where new plant material will replace relocated plant material, <br />appropriate planting soil mix shall be used as backfill. <br />07/03 02481 -1 03- 4138.A <br />
