SECTION 02490 <br />TREES, PLANTS AND GROUNDCOVER <br />PART 1 -GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A. Provide all labor, materials, necessary equipment and services to <br />complete the Trees, Plants and Groundcover work, as indicated on the <br />drawings, as specified herein or both, except as for items specifically <br />indicated as "NIC ITEMS ". <br />1.02 RELATED WORK <br />A. Section 02210 - Fine Grading <br />B Section 02481 - Shrub and Tree Relocation <br />C. Section 02484 - Soil Preparation and Soil Mixes <br />D. Section 02487 - Sodding <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A. Inspection <br />1. Furnish plant materials inspected by State Department of <br />Agriculture at the growing site and tagged or otherwise <br />approved for delivery by Landscape Architect. <br />2. Inspection at growing site does not preclude right of rejection at <br />project site. <br />B. Furnish plant materials certified by State Department of Agriculture to <br />be free form harmful insects or apparent disease. Verify that all plant <br />material is free of harmful insects and disease. <br />C. All plant material shall be Florida #1 or better as defined by the Florida <br />Department of Agriculture "Codes and Standards for Nursery Plants <br />Part I and II ". <br />D. Plant material shall be shade or sun grown, and /or acclimatized <br />depending on planting location. <br />1.04 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Certificate of inspection of plant material by State Authorities. <br />B. Test Reports: Analysis of samples from planting soil supply areas. <br />C. Maintenance Instruction: Prior to the end of the maintenance period, <br />furnish three copies of written maintenance instructions to the <br />Owner's Representative and Landscape Architect for maintenance and <br />care of installed plants throughout their full growing season. <br />07/03 02490 -1 03- 4138.A <br />
