1 <br />1 <br />3) Contractor shall only use thin form- coating compounds with thinning <br />agent of type, amount, and under conditions of form- coating compound <br />manufacturers directions. Contractor shall not allow excess form - <br />coating material to accumulate in forms or to come into contact with in- <br />place concrete surfaces against which fresh concrete will be placed. <br />Apply in compliance with manufacturers instructions. <br />G. CONCRETE PLACEMENT: <br />1) Pre - placement Inspection: Before placing concrete, inspect and <br />complete formwork installation, reinforcing steel, and items to be <br />embedded or cast -in. <br />2) General: Comply with FDOT Specifications for Road and Bridge <br />Construction, current edition, and CRSI "Manual of Standard Practice ". <br />3) Deposit concrete continuously or in layers of such thickness that no <br />concrete will be placed on concrete which has hardened sufficiently to <br />cause the formation of seams or planes of weakness. If a section <br />cannot be placed continuously, provide construction joints as herein <br />specified. Deposit concrete as nearly as practicable to its final location <br />to avoid segregation. <br />4) Placing Concrete in Forms: Deposit concrete in forms in horizontal <br />layer not deeper than 24" and in a manner to avoid inclined construction <br />joints. Where placement consists of several layers, place each layer <br />while preceding layer is still plastic to avoid cold joints. <br />5) Consolidate placed concrete by mechanical vibrating equipment <br />supplemented by hand - spading, prodding or tamping. Use equipment <br />and procedures for consolidation of concrete in accordance with ACI <br />309. Concrete shall be thoroughly worked around reinforcement and <br />embed items. <br />6) Contractor shall not use vibrators to transport concrete inside forms. <br />Insert and withdraw vibrators vertically at uniformly spaced locations not <br />RJC/08I031SUNNY ISLESJTECHSPEGS <br />TS -14 <br />
