Category 6 Cabling System City of Sunny Isles Beach Request for Proposal Confidential and Proprietary 7 OPTICAL FIBER PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS In addition to meeting the specifications outlined in ANSI /TIA/EIA- 568 -B.3 and ISO /IEC 11801:2000 Edl .2, the requirements in this section must also be met for all applicable optical fiber products as listed below. 7.1 OUTLETS /ADAPTERS All optical fiber outlets /adapters shall meet the following characteristics: Approved Product Leviton or equal. 7.2 CONNECTORS All optical fiber connectors shall meet the following characteristics: Approved Product Leviton or equal. 7.3 PATCH CORDS /PIGTAILS Fiber equipment cords shall possess the following characteristics: Approved Product Leviton or equal. 7.4 ENCLOSURES All interconnect centers, panels and trays (units) shall provide cross - connect, inter - connect, splicing capabilities and contain cable management for supporting and routing the fiber cables /jumpers. Approved Product Leviton or equal. 7.5 CABLE In addition to meeting the applicable performance specifications, all optical fiber cable shall be appropriate for the environment in which it is installed. All backbone fiber optic cable shall be 12 strand Multimode riser rated cable, 62.5/125um & 6 strand 9/125um Single mode. Fiber optic cable shall be Riser (OFNR) or Plenum (OFNP) listed where available. Each fiber outlet will be terminated onto SC connectors at both ends for multimode fiber & FC connectors at both ends for single mode fiber. Fiber pair terminations are to be reversed (swapped) on IDF side. Approved product CORNING 12 strand riser rated 62.51125um fiber optic Multimode cable CORNING 6 strand riser rated 91125um fiber optic Single Mode cable Contractor will install a total of (12 MM / 6 SM) Fiber Optic cable Strands between the PD Computer room 2 -020 & the MDF on the 3 rd floor, (12 MM / 6 SM) Fiber Optic cable Strands between TELCO CLOSET 2 -009 & the MDF on the 3rd floor, (12 MM / 6 SM) Fiber Optic cable Strands between TELCO CLOSET 4 -009 & the MDF on the Y floor, & (12 MM / 6 SM) Fiber Optic cable Strands between TELCO CLOSET 1 -037 (council chambers) & the MDF on the 3` floor.
