� I <br />t <br />1 <br />F� <br />WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY <br />Wireless transmission of Inter - Building linking was the wave of the <br />future, and now exists with remarkable results. While eliminating the <br />expense of constructing costly fiber optic systems, the Inter - Building <br />link accommodates future growth at minimal expense to the user. <br />The Inter - Building link can transmit via microwave at rates of 2 <br />MBPS /4 MBPS or up to 480 MBPS, depending on the needs of the <br />system <br />In 1997 Jade Communications Inc., completed the installation and <br />testing of 33 wireless access points which links the computer network <br />at NOVA Law University with the classrooms and lecture halls. This <br />system enabled approximately 500 students to access the library's <br />reference materials without having to go to the library. With the <br />wireless system, the Professors as well as the students can access <br />any reference materials needed while attending a class or lecture, <br />utilizing only their personal laptop computer. <br />Wireless technology enables us to avoid the costly need for T -1 links, <br />while providing redundancy where a T -1 link presently exists. The <br />wireless technology has the capability of transmitting Voice and Data, <br />as well as Video. <br />Recently JCI installed a point -to -point wireless system for the city of <br />Lauderhill Florida.
