RESOLUTION NO. 2016-'Z.62.S <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF <br /> POLICE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COMPREHENSIVE CRIME <br /> CONTROL ACT OF 1984, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION <br /> 932.7055, F.S., TO EXPEND PARTIAL FORFEITURE FUNDS FROM <br /> THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE (DOJ) FOR THE PURCHASE OF A <br /> NEW POLICE DISPATCH CONSOLE, MEDIA STORAGE CABINETS <br /> AND FURNITURE FOR THE POLICE COMMUNICATIONS CENTER, <br /> ONE (1) POLICE K9 (DOG) AND ALL NECESSARY K9 TRAINING, <br /> ONE (1) ADDITIONAL SECURITY CCTV CAMERA INSTALLED ON <br /> THE PIER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-SEVEN <br /> THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED TWENTY-SIX DOLLARS AND EIGHTY- <br /> ONE CENTS ($67,526.81); PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984, the City <br /> and its Police Department are authorized to expend forfeiture funds from the established <br /> Department of Justice (DOJ) federal forfeiture account, for the approved programs or purchases <br /> intended to enhance law enforcement purposes; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the Comprehensive Crime Control Act of 1984 and <br /> Florida Statutes §932.7055(4)(a)and(4)(b)upon the request of the Chief of Police to the governing <br /> body of a municipality, liens and forfeiture funds may be expended if accompanied by written <br /> certification that the request complies with the provisions of the aforementioned subsections; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Chief of Police has submitted a request for the purchase of a new Police <br /> Dispatch Console, Media Storage Cabinets and Furniture for the Police Communications Center, <br /> One (1) Police K9 (Dog) and all necessary K9 Training, One (1) Additional Security CCTV <br /> Camera installed on the Pier, in an amount not to exceed Sixty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred <br /> Twenty-Six Dollars and Eighty-One Cents ($67,526.81) in forfeiture (DOJ) funds in compliance <br /> with the aforementioned legal requirements. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Expenditure of Partial Federally Forfeited Monies. Based on the attached <br /> certification, the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to expend an amount not to exceed Sixty- <br /> Seven Thousand Five Hundred Twenty-Six Dollars and Eighty-One Cents ($67,526.81) from the <br /> established Department of Justice (DOJ) federal forfeitures account for the purchase a new Police <br /> Dispatch Console, Media Storage Cabinets and Furniture for the Police Communications Center, <br /> One (1) Police K9 (Dog) and all necessary K9 Training, and One (1) Additional Security CCTV <br /> Camera installed on the Pier. <br /> • <br /> R2016-Police Forfeiture(DOJ)Expend Funds 111716 Page 1 of 2 <br />
