H. Password protection shall be provided for both the computer(s) operating system and the <br />security software. A minimum of two layers of password protection shall be provided for the <br />security software, administrative and user. Administrative privileges shall allow for complete <br />setup and entry of all system data and configuration information. User password shall restrict <br />privileges to system entry and day -to-day operations. <br />I. Acceptable manufactures: <br />1. KANTECH KT -300 <br />2. or approved equal <br />2.2. POWER SUPPLY <br />A. System installer shall provide power supply units as necessary to make the system complete <br />and functional. Power supplies may be required for main and remote equipment. Power supplies <br />are to be selected to match source and load voltages, frequency, wattage and environment for <br />equipment powered. Sufficient capacity shall be included in power supplies to accommodate <br />reasonable and expected future requirements. Power supply shall be U.L. listed. <br />B. Power supply enclosure shall be suitable for location used. <br />C. Provisions shall be made for the continuous operation of the full system upon loss of normal <br />power. Standby batteries, UPS system, or both shall provide power for minimum of 24 hours for <br />remote devices, and 30 minutes for servers, monitors and common equipment. Generator <br />standby power (not provided by security installer) shall provide emergency long -term power. <br />2.3. EQUIPMENT HOUSING <br />A. Equipment housing shall be provided where indicated on the drawings and as needed to house <br />security equipment and control system components such as programmable logic controllers, <br />wiring terminations, power supplies, auxiliary relays, etc. <br />2.4. BIOMETRIC READER <br />A. Biometric readers shall be compact, multi - functional, decorative, vandal resistant access <br />readers. <br />B. They shall also be compatible with a wide variety of proximity cards in addition to biometric <br />input. The proximity card reader component shall provide up to 10" of read range. <br />C. Acceptable products: <br />1. Bioscrypt V -Prox <br />2. or approved equal <br />2.5. PROXIMITY CARD READER <br />A. Proximity card readers shall be compact, decorative, non - contact, proximity type access card <br />reader. Unit will be compatible with a wide variety of proximity cards. Reader shall provide up to <br />10" of read range. Unit shall be vandal resistant. <br />B. Acceptable products: <br />8/04 17720 -5 <br />
