<br />Preview <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br /> <br /> <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />18070 Collins Avenue <br />Sunny Isles Beach, Florida 33160 <br /> <br />(305) 947-0606 City Hall <br />(305) 949-3113 Fax <br /> <br />MEMORANDll~ <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />The Honorable Mayor and City Commission <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Rick Conner, City Manager <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />12/16/2010 <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Heritage Park Change Order Number Seven <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />We recommend that the Commission approve Change Order Number Seven in the <br />amount of $1,037,400 and allowing zero days in extensions, with Coastal Construction <br />for the expansion of the scope for Heritage Park to now include the Stage, the History <br />Wall, and the Water Feature. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />In February, the Finance Department will be presenting the final results of Fiscal Year <br />2009/20IO's Financial Statements. Preliminary numbers show that the City's General <br />Fund will recognize an excess of over a $1.2 million in revenues over expenditures <br />(through among other things, the diligent efforts of all of the employees). We are <br />asking that these excess funds be directed to the Capital Projects account, and <br />specifically $1,100,000 to Heritage Park, to allow the completion of the entire project <br />except for the canopy over the stage. This will finish this project as originally <br />envisioned, now including the History Wall, the Water Feature for the children to play in, <br />and the Stage (the stage canopy would be an additional $500,000 if you wish to now <br />include it as well). The schedule would be extended by zero (no) days, requiring <br />completion to still be accomplished by February 18th, 20 II. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> <br />The results of the City's financial statements will be presented by the Finance Director 1 <br />Assistant City Manager at the February Commission Meeting. <br /> <br />FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> <br />The funding of this request comes from the transfer of the excess in the General Fund. <br /> <br />http://sibagenda.si bfl.net/agenda/Preview.aspx?I temID=3 97 &MeetingID=O&MeetingDate... 12/912010 <br />
