1 <br />I+ <br />LJ <br />1 <br />disposal of such materials and waste. The Contractor shall also keep its haul roads free <br />from dirt, rubbish, and unnecessary obstructions resulting from its operations. Disposal of <br />all rubbish and surplus materials shall be off the site of construction in accordance with <br />local codes and ordinances governing locations and methods of disposal, and in <br />conformance with all applicable safety laws, and to the particular requirements of Part 1926 <br />of the OSHA Safety and Health Standards for Construction. <br />C. Sanitation <br />1. Toilet Facilities - Fixed or portable chemical toilets shall be provided wherever <br />needed for the use of employees. Toilets at construction job sites shall conform to <br />the requirements of Part 1926 of the OSHA Standards for Construction. <br />2. Sanitary and Other Organic Wastes - The Contractor shall establish a regular daily <br />collection of all sanitary and organic wastes. All wastes and refuse from sanitary <br />facilities provided by the Contractor or organic material wastes from any other <br />source related to the Contractor's operations shall be disposed of away from the site <br />in a manner satisfactory to the Engineer and in accordance with all laws and <br />regulations pertaining thereto. <br />1.05 SALVAGE <br />A. Any existing equipment or material including but not limited to, valves, pipes, fittings, <br />couplings, etc., which is removed or replaced as a result of construction under this project <br />may be designated as salvage by the Engineer or City and if so shall be excavated, if <br />necessary, and delivered to the City by a location directed by the City. Any equipment or <br />material not worthy of salvaging, as directed by the City, shall be disposed of by the <br />Contractor at a suitable location. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS (Not Used) <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 COOPERATION WITHIN THIS CONTRACT <br />A. All firms or persons authorized to perform any work under this Contract shall cooperate <br />with the General Contractor and his subcontractors or trades, and shall assist in <br />incorporating the work of other trades where necessary or required. <br />B. Cutting and patching, drilling and fitting shall be carried out where required by the trade or <br />subcontractor having jurisdiction, unless otherwise indicated herein or directed by the <br />Engineer. <br />3.02 PROTECTION OF CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT <br />A. All newly constructed work shall be carefully protected from injury in any way. No <br />wheeling or walking or placing of heavy loads on it shall be allowed and all portions <br />injured shall be reconstructed by the Contractor at his own expense. <br />END OF SECTION <br />06/05 01505 -3 03- 4138.13 <br />
