x
qual
National ASAL Award Winner - Parc
Diagonal Mar, Barcelona Spain
PROJECT APPROACH I 1
LANDSCAPE SERVICES APPROACH
EDAW understands that the City of Sunny Isles Beach has a need to develop
landscape design plans, construction documents and specifications for a wide
variety of potential improvements based on the need to facilitate
redevelopment that improves the economic vitality and quality of life in the
designated redevelopment areas. These projects may include:
• Right of way beautification
• Median and swale landscaping
• Development of maintenance standards
• Beach and dunescaping
• Active and passive development
• Irrigation design, operation and maintenance.
• Wetland restoration
• Sensitivity to environmental issues unique to coastal barrier islands
• Landscape plans review and approvals
We are experienced in each of these project types and have prepared the
following general scope of services in response to what we understand are
your needs and objectives for these improvements.
SCOPE OF WORK
Each landscape assignment under this contract will have unique requirements
of functional design, budget, site opportunities and constraints, architectural
context, user needs, and community and "stakeholder" expectations. Each
will be designed and implemented in accordance with not just the landscape,
tree protection and other regulatory and environmental requirements of the
City, County and applicable state and federal agencies, but with a "best
practice" approach that emphasizes cost - effective design, ease of
constructability and maintenance, and environmental sustainability.
Appropriate and thoughtful plant species selection, xeriscape principles of
landscape and irrigation design, a conscientious approach to the
environmental impact of materials selection, and utilizing the latest
information on trends in the nursery and construction industry are all key
elements of this approach.
We recognize that each project is unique; we do not believe in or provide any
boilerplate solutions. Further, we recognize that City staff are key players of
the team in any City project, and we look forward to an effective and
rewarding collaboration with your in house managers and design
professionals. Finally, we will approach each assignment with a keen interest
in the community's expressed desires for the project. We will work with City
staff to effectively solicit, respond to, and incorporate public input, as
EDAW INC DESIGN, PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENTS WORLDWIDE
