EXPERIENCE AND EXPERTISE
FIRM PROFILE I 1
0
l0[lli.`1
EDAW has extensive experience in providing landscape architecture services
to a variety of South Florida government agencies, including Miami -Dade
County, City of Miami, City of Miami Beach, City of Ft. Lauderdale, City of
West Palm Beach and the National Parks Service. These services have been
provided on both a project basis and an ongoing continuous service basis, and
have varied in the nature of the projects and the procedural requirements of
the agencies. All are very similar, however, in requiring the following:
• Open collaboration and good working relations with public agency staff
• Respect for the input of citizens and the requirements of public process
• Commitment to delivering highly creative, yet effectively built and
maintainable projects that provide maximum value for every public dollar
spent
• A high degree of responsiveness to urban and environmental issues
EDAW is currently a pre - approved landscape architecture consultant for the
City of Miami and the City of West Palm Beach.
Our experience includes substantial work that demonstrates expertise in the
nine landscape design specialty areas identified by the City of Sunny Isles. It
also encompasses similar redevelopment work that emphasizes streetscape
improvement and beautification, environmental protection and restoration,
development of view corridors, and place making in an urbanized beachfront
environment.
For the City of Miami Beach, EDAW developed neighborhood right of way
improvement projects for the Flamingo, Oceanfront, and Islands
neighborhoods that included extensive right of way beautification, median
and swale landscaping, and irrigation design. Maintenance requirements and
standards were an important component of these projects which included both
very urban and single - family neighborhoods. The Oceanfront Neighborhood
project in particular required landscape solutions that addressed view
corridor, beachfront landscaping, and beach access issues in a densely
developed area along Collins Avenue similar to the existing conditions in
Sunny Isles Beach.
Also for the City of Miami Beach, EDAW is completing a planning effort for
the Indian Creek Greenway, a trail along Indian Creek designed to enhance
EDAW INC DESIGN, PLANNING AND ENVIRONMENTS WORLDWIDE
